CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

Who are eligible to apply?
The applicant must be a Canadian permanent resident and have lived in Canada for at least 3 years out of the last 5 year before the application for citizenship is submitted. There are exceptions to reduce this time requirement if the permanent resident previously held a Canadian work permit prior to obtaining permanent residency status.
Applicants who are 18 to 54 years of age are required to take an English or French test.
The minimum language requirement is Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 4 in all skills.

Permanent Resident (PR) Card Renewal
Canadian Permanent Residents are issued PR card valid up to 5 years. If they don’t interested to take the citizenship, the Permanent resident has to renew his / her PR card.
Permanent Residents have to fulfill the residency obligation, and then the applicant can apply for renewal of PR card. There is no restriction on the number of renewals and you can continue to remain a PR through your life, without ever applying for Canadian citizenship.

Card is lost, stolen, or destroyed
Name change – if Legal
Date of birth Corrections
PR card is a travel document and a person must carry this while traveling to Canada, without one or with an expired PR card, you may not be able to board
