Provincial nomination program has been very popular in recent years due to very high threshold of Federal programs
All immigration programs of Canadian provinces are referred as Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) The Provincial Nominee Programs is for skilled and/or experienced workers, experienced business persons, and their family members who want to settle in a particular province of Canada.
Canada has signed separate agreements with each of the ten provinces and three territories for nomination of skilled workers. The provinces of Canada have various programs depending the yearly requirement of each province or territory.
The programs are based on province’s own strategy and annual assessments to support their specific economic development needs & to fulfill the shortage of skilled professionals from different field. PNP programs are designed to target specific work professionals. Provincial programs have comparatively soft eligibility criteria. However, each province has its own demographic composition due to which most of their nomination programs are either occupation restricted or job offer based.
The province sends invitations to individuals from the Express Entry pool that have satisfied requirement for that province and some stream sends automatic invitation according to categories in the Express Entry

PROCESS
Provincial Nomination is a twostep process
Provincial Process
Applicants submit an Expression of interest (EOI) to the particular province where their profile qualifies. Upon receiving an invitation to apply, their full application along with supporting documents is submitted to the provincial immigration department.
Nomination’ by a province – a positive selection decision, indicating that the province accepts the applicant as a resident.
Federal Process
Applicants after having a nomination certificate can submit application for Permanent Resident to the Federal government
Besides the applicants may submit Work Permit application to come earlier and start working in the province as the federal processing of PR visa could be time consuming
