Express Entry

Federal Skilled Trades Program

Immigrate as a Permanent Resident to Canada

Canada has one of the most positive immigration policies in the world and welcomes more than 400,000 new immigrants each year.

While Canada offers a great choice of both Federal and Provincial immigration programs, immigration to Canada has become increasingly popular due to main driver of the Canadian immigration system – Express Entry.

Unlike the old process of considering the PR applications on first come first serve basis, by January 2015 the new virtual system Express entry was launched by Immigration Canada (ICCRC) designed to manage immigration programs like Federal Skilled Worker (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Express Entry is based on certain key factors for assessment and hence assigns you certain points, which decides your likelihood to be selected from the pool of eligible candidates for PR.

Federal Skilled Trades Program

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is for the trade’s people who are being qualified in a skilled trade and willing to become permanent residents

NOC Major Group 82: Natural resources, agriculture, and production trades.
NOC Major Group 92: Processing, manufacturing, and utilities trades.
NOC Major Group 632: Chefs and cooks.
NOC Major Group 633: Butchers and bakers.

Express Entry Process

The process of Express entry is made more simplified with our guidance.

A skilled applicant has to complete an online Express Entry profile. Applicants can stay in the pool for up to 12 months
This is a secure form that they will use to provide information about their: age, work experience, language ability, education, and other details

Entry into the Express Entry pool does not guarantee an applicant will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Invited applicants still have to meet eligibility and admissibility requirements under Canada’s immigration law (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act).

Applicants will be ranked against others in the pool using a point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
Points are awarded using the information in their profile. Applicant with the highest scores in the pool will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Additional points are awarded for Arranged employment i.e. a job offer from a qualified Canadian employer. Job Bank will help connect Express Entry applicants with eligible employers in Canada.

If an applicant is invited to apply; they will have 60 days to submit an online application for permanent residence. Citizenship and Immigration Canada will process the majority of complete applications (meaning those with all the necessary supporting documents) within six months

If an applicant does not get an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence within 12 months of submitting an Express Entry profile, they may submit a new profile. If they still meet the criteria, they can re-enter the pool.
